Tell me what you know about your armpits?

You might ask what fresh armpits have to do with anything. Our answer is SOOO much. Did you know that your breast health depends a good bit on what deodorant you are wearing? If you didn't we are here to tell you why it does. This is true for both men and women so tell hubby/boyfriend to listen up too. Despite men not thinking of their breast as they do women's the same lymph nodes that effect our breast health effects theirs too.

The lymphatic system is a network comprised of tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins and unwanted materials. Guess what surrounds our breast? Yep, you guessed it! Your lymph nodes. The main lymph nodes that rid the breast of toxins are those that are located in the armpit area and along the outer breast. These are also the lymph nodes that are involved when breast cancer is present.

Just because this picture is of a female doesn't mean men are not equally effected.

The deodorant you use on a daily basis plays a large role in the health of your breast tissue. Often women who experience clogged milk ducts or mastitis on a regular basis while nursing I will ask the question what deodorant they are using. No one seems to understand initially why I ask this. The deodorant you buy commercially is laden with chemicals and aluminum. Aluminum collects in your lymph nodes. The chemicals also collect in your lymph nodes causing swelling. This is the result of your lymph nodes being congested and not processing the chemicals out of your body efficiently.

Your lymphatic system does not have a metabolism to move on it's own. Those who are not getting adequate exercise (cardio specifically) may have a slower moving lymphatic system. Dry brushing, lymphatic massage/drainage, and herbal supplements are all ways to get your lymphatic system moving. If you treat yourself well with whole foods, exercise, and the correct chemical free lifestyle you may not ever have an issue. Let's just face the facts that not everyone does that nor do they want to.

An easy way to ensure your lymph nodes around your breasts are operating at optimal levels is to wear a deodorant that is non clogging (lymph node friendly). Make sure you can say the ingredients listed on your deodorant. Your most important task...make sure it DOES NOT HAVE ALUMINUM in it.

Again, this is so important for breastfeeding mothers. You want to have free flowing milk through your ducts. If you are using a chemical/commercial deodorant you may experience issues with swelling or knots in the armpit area or side of the breast. Keeping your lymphatic system clean will allow breast milk to pass more freely through the ducts; lessening your chance of mastitis and making your nursing journey a better one!

We did some work for you! No worries, you're welcome!
